Rituparna Datta is a Research and Programme Assistant at Calcutta Research Group, Kolkata. Her research interests focus on migration and mobilities in colonial and postcolonial India. Her ongoing doctoral research from Centre for Informal Sector and Labour studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University looks into the health and wellbeing of coolie labour in the indentured mobilities through a gendered lens.

Poushali Basak is a Research Assistant at Calcutta Research Group, Kolkata. She has previously worked with Max Mueller Stiftung, Germany on research project Education and the Urban and at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai in a project on Early and Child Marriages in India. Her M.A. dissertation focused on place making in Rajarhat, Kolkata through the lived experiences of inhabitants navigating transformation of agricultural and rural land to urban township. Her MPhil work focused on history of sexworkers’ organising, negotiating developmental governance. Her PhD work is about affective histories of autonomous women’s collectives in India since 1980s. Her research interests are in the political and the urban, right to the city, migration and homelessness, feminist movements, gender studies, queer lives and liveabilities. She is associated with different feminist, queer and democratic rights movement spaces.
